Bonnie Rogues, a new premium party pub, has officially opened its doors on Temple Street in Birmingham city centre following a conversion project that cost over £1 million. The venue, which replaced the former Revolución de Cuba site, welcomed its first customers on Friday, September 25.
From Law Library to Party Venue
The pub is housed inside the former Birmingham Law Library, and the original book shelves have been retained as a nod to the building's history. The former study area has been transformed into a large space intended for parties and dancing, which is also available to book for private events.
NEOS Hospitality operations manager Hamza Durrani described the new venue as “a fun high-energy pub.” He said: “We show live sports, we have a Sunday roast, we've got a fantastic range of beer. We do amazing beer towers and cocktail towers, we have a wheel of fortune. It's packed with high energy, bar dances. Expect loads of live bands six days a week and all the fun.”
Site History and Investment
The building previously operated as Revolución de Cuba for around eight years before Bonnie Rogues took over the site. Durrani explained: “This used to be the former Birmingham Law Library, we have kept the old book shelfs still and converted the room into a huge space for parties and dancing. It's a bookable space and the feature of the room really. We took on the old Revolution De Cuba site that was here for about eight years.”
Durrani added: “The conversion has cost over a million pounds and what you have in front of you is a fantastic Bonnie Rogues pub. We're absolutely pleased, buzzing with it. Although we're upstairs now, downstairs is absolutely packed and we're looking forward to a busy weekend.”
Chain Expansion
Bonnie Rogues is a chain with existing locations in Bristol and Swansea, and the Birmingham site marks its latest expansion. The pub is located at 8 Temple Street, Birmingham, B2 5BN.
The opening adds a new high-energy option to the city centre's nightlife, with live music scheduled six days a week and a range of food and drink offers including Sunday roasts and beer and cocktail towers.
