A prominent business campus in Hertfordshire is turning to the public's lens to capture its core values, launching a year-long photography contest with significant cash and charitable rewards.
Competition Details and Charitable Impact
Breakspear Park in Hemel Hempstead has officially opened entries for a new photography competition running throughout 2026. The initiative is structured around four quarterly themes: Community, Sustainability, Wellbeing, and Connection. Organisers describe these as the fundamental values that shape daily life and culture at the business park.
The contest is designed to be inclusive, open to photographers of all ages and skill levels. Entrants can use any device to capture their images, from professional cameras to everyday smartphones. The incentive to participate is substantial: each quarterly winner will receive £250 in cash. Furthermore, Breakspear Park will make an additional £750 donation to a local Hertfordshire charity selected by the winning photographer.
Themes, Submission Process, and Public Vote
The first competition round, focusing on Community, is now live and will accept submissions until midnight on Sunday, 8 February 2026. Photographers are encouraged to submit images that encapsulate people coming together. Suggested subjects include neighbourhood events, volunteering efforts, collaborative office teams, multi-generational gatherings, and public spaces like parks and community hubs in use.
Entries must be sent via email to enquiries@breakspear-park.co.uk along with the photographer's contact details. A crucial rule states that entrants are solely responsible for obtaining all necessary permissions and consents from any identifiable individuals featured in their photographs.
After the submission deadline, Breakspear Park's management team will shortlist three finalists. These images will then be posted on the business park's Facebook page for a public vote. The overall winner for the first quarter will be announced in March 2026. A selection of the standout photographs will be printed and displayed in the park's central atrium for employees and visitors to enjoy daily.
Voices from Breakspear Park
Dina Mistry, Marketing Manager at Breakspear Park, explained the motivation behind the contest. "Community, sustainability, wellbeing, and connection aren't just themes for us," she said. "They're values that define the culture at Breakspear Park and how we operate every day. This competition is about celebrating those values through photography, while also giving something meaningful back."
Mistry highlighted the dual benefit of the prizes: "Not only can entrants win £250 for themselves, but they can also directly support a local charity that matters to them with a further £750, creating a positive impact that extends well beyond the business park."
The subsequent quarterly themes for 2026 will be announced in due course, offering multiple opportunities for local photographers to engage with the business park's ethos and contribute to charitable causes across Hertfordshire.
