72-Metre Mural Transforms Cardiff Walkway

A massive new outdoor street art mural has transformed a busy city shopping walkway into a bright, colourful display. The temporary artwork spans 72 metres in length and stretches across both Hill Street and The Hayes.

Local Artists Behind the Bold Design

The huge installation was created by three local Cardiff artists using bold patterns and playful designs. A fun thread runs through the entire artwork to give children something interactive to follow along the ground.

The creative team used virtual reality headsets to map out and paint the large-scale project across the pavement. Visitors can now experience the immersive artwork while shopping or walking through the city centre.

St David's Centre Director Welcomes the Mural

Helen Morgan, centre director of St David's Cardiff, commented: "This new mural injects colour and creativity into a bustling city space, bringing something that's both joyful and unexpected. We're proud to collaborate with local artists to bring this area to life and celebrate the city's vibrant creative spirit."

Playful Design for a Popular Walkway

Suzanne Carpenter, founder of The Patternistas, added: "This part of the city is a popular walkway associated with recreation and relaxation, so we created a playful design that we felt would add the right level of friendliness, fun and colour, while also bringing energy and flow.

"Our ultimate goal, as always, is to bring life to spaces and put smiles on faces. As part of the Cardiff community, it's been a joy to work together to create a collaborative piece for our home city."
