Students across Birmingham and the West Midlands are receiving their A-level results today, Thursday, August 13, with grades released from 8am nationwide. Alongside results, exam boards publish grade boundaries, allowing students to see how many marks were needed for each grade. This helps them check how close they came to the next grade up and decide whether to request a remark if they missed out on a university place.
When and where to find grade boundaries
Grade boundaries for summer 2026 will be available on the AQA website at 8am on Thursday, August 13. For OCR (Oxford, Cambridge and RSA), boundaries for AS, A Level, Cambridge Technicals, Core Maths, Extended Project and FSMQ will also be published at 8am on the same day. Pearson Edexcel will release AS and A Level and BTEC National grade boundaries for summer 2025 on its website at 8am on Thursday, August 13.
What to do with your results
UCAS university offers will also be published, enabling students to find out if they have secured their chosen place. If results are not as expected, students can use grade boundaries to assess whether a remark is worthwhile.
