Exeter Primary School Pupils Win Torbay and Devon Civic Award
Exeter Pupils Honoured with Civic Award

Twenty-eight Year 6 pupils from Exwick Heights Primary School in Exeter have been awarded the prestigious Torbay and Devon Civic Award in recognition of their outstanding contributions to their local area. The pupils completed a range of community and environmental tasks to secure the honour.

Requirements and Achievements

To achieve the award, students demonstrated deep involvement in school and community life. Each child compiled a detailed portfolio showcasing hobbies, charitable fundraising, and support for green projects. During official assessments, the youngsters spoke confidently about personal achievements in sports, music, and volunteering roles.

Many highlighted environmental work, including litter clearing, gardening, and promoting recycling. Others focused on raising funds for charities such as Balloons Bereavement Support Services, the RSPCA, and Cancer Research.

Presentation Ceremony

The group received their certificates at a special ceremony hosted by local council leaders. Exwick Heights Primary School is part of the Ted Wragg Trust, which encourages active community involvement. The school operates a student council system to promote democracy and mutual respect.
