West Grantham Academy Celebrates GCSE Success

Students at West Grantham C of E Secondary Academy have received their GCSE results, marking a successful year for the school community. The academy reports that pupils made broadly above-average progress, with outcomes reflecting their hard work, determination, and commitment throughout their studies.

Top Performers and Their Achievements

Among the highest achievers was Srihari Manimaran, who secured grade 9s in chemistry, further maths, maths, and physics, alongside distinctions in business studies and engineering. He also achieved 8s and 7s in biology, English, and English literature. In September, Srihari will continue his studies at The King's School, taking A-levels in maths, further maths, economics, and chemistry. He thanked all staff for their "help and support and for pushing me further."

Kloe Riley and Mina Popescu also celebrated excellent results, with both achieving the highest grades in all subjects. Kloe thanked "all staff for being there and pushing me," while Mina, who will study A-levels in psychology, sociology, politics, and English literature at KGGS, commented: "The perseverance and support that the school provided for me will never be forgotten."

Another Student's Success and School-Wide Improvements

Hedwin Ajesh gained superb grades across the board, including 9s and 8s in biology, chemistry, maths, and physics. He will study chemistry, physics, maths, and economics at The King's School. He expressed his gratitude to all the staff at "this wonderful school for listening and being kind."

Notable improvements were made in subjects such as English, history, hospitality, and construction, demonstrating that West Grantham is supporting the learning of all its students in both academic and vocational subjects.

Clare Barber, executive principal, noted: "I am immensely proud of the Year 11s and the impressive outcomes as a result of their hard work, resilience and determination." She also praised staff and parents/carers for their dedication to what she describes as a "wonderful, all-inclusive school that continues to go from strength-to-strength." The school is located in Grantham, Lincolnshire.
