Off Campus season 2 will feature a slightly different cast when it returns, as one main cast member has officially left the series. Filming for the new season is set to begin in Canada, but Josh Heuston, who played musician Justin Khol in season 1, will not be returning.
Why Josh Heuston Left Off Campus
In an interview with TV Guide, Off Campus creator Louisa Levy revealed that Heuston was unavailable for season 2 due to other filming commitments. She stated: "Not next season, but I love Josh and I would not write him off if I can find a way to bring Justin back at some point. We don't have him next season, but never say never."
Justin's Story in the Books
In the original Off Campus books by Elle Kennedy, Justin eventually finds a new love interest named Stella. Levy hinted that this storyline could pave the way for Heuston's return in a future season, saying: "We never got a chance to meet Stella, who is the person he ends up with in the book. So maybe we'll find a way to fold him into a future season."
What to Expect in Season 2
While Heuston's departure is a disappointment for fans, the rest of the main cast is expected to return, along with some new faces. Season 2 will also focus on a new romantic couple, following the book series' structure. The show remains one of the biggest hits of 2026, with viewers captivated by the fake romance between Hannah Wells and Garrett Graham, as well as the supporting characters like Allie and Dean.
As production gets underway, fans can look forward to more drama, romance, and hockey action when Off Campus season 2 premieres on Prime Video.
