The Met Office has forecast rain over Birmingham next week, marking a stark contrast to the recent sunshine the city has enjoyed. The weather has remained temperate, with heat far more tolerable than the heatwaves experienced earlier in the summer.
Current Weekend Weather
Today, Friday, July 24, and Saturday are both set to be warm, with temperatures hovering around 26C throughout the day. However, Sunday will see a nosedive, with grey overcast skies set to send temperatures down to 22C.
For today, the Met Office stated: "Patches of low cloud and any fog will soon clear to leave a dry day across the region. There will be some decent spells of sunshine, and with light winds it will feel very warm again in the afternoon. Maximum temperature 27C." It added: "It will be a dry evening with clear periods. Cloud will gradually increase from the north overnight, perhaps bringing the odd spot of drizzle later. Staying quite warm. Minimum temperature 13C."
Saturday and Sunday Outlook
For Saturday, the Met Office continued: "Some sunshine will develop on Saturday morning, though cloud is set to increase from the north into the afternoon, with some showery rain developing. Still warm, though rather breezy. Maximum temperature 26C."
The outlook for Sunday to Tuesday states: "Sunday will be a fresher, still breezy day with sunshine and scattered showers."
Next Week's Forecast
Next week sees temperatures rise back up to highs of 28C, but cloudy skies bring the chance of rain. The Met Office added: "Some sunshine at times early next week too, though some patchy rain is also possible."
