Birmingham Council Announces Mobile Tip Truck Schedule for Next Week

Birmingham City Council has unveiled the schedule for its popular mobile tip truck service, which will visit 10 wards over the coming seven days. This initiative provides a convenient and free way for householders to dispose of unwanted waste without the need for identification.

Service Details and Accepted Items

The mobile tip trucks allow residents to simply turn up and hand over their waste to council crews, who will handle disposal safely and at no charge. Accepted items include general rubbish that cannot be reused and bulky household goods, such as furniture and wood. This service aims to reduce illegal dumping and promote responsible waste management in the community.

Items Not Accepted

However, there are restrictions on what can be disposed of. Crews will not accept building materials, white goods like refrigerators or washing machines, large items such as garage doors, tree stumps, or thick branches. Hazardous materials, including asbestos, engine oil, and cooking oil, are also prohibited. Additionally, gas cylinders and wheelie bins will be refused to ensure safety and compliance with waste regulations.
