Ruthless fly-tippers are putting the lives of innocent motorists at risk by turning a main road into a dumping ground. Over the past month, rubbish has been routinely left at the side of the Collector Road, which runs from Castle Bromwich towards Solihull.
Entire Lay-by Blocked by Waste
In the latest incident, captured in images on Wednesday, April 9, cones were placed around furniture and other waste scattered across an entire lay-by. This hazardous obstruction forces drivers to navigate around debris, increasing the risk of accidents on this busy stretch.
According to Councillor Alan Feeney, criminals left a massive dump just weeks ago, which was cleared up only to return. The area is now ridden with bin bags, household waste, and garden refuse, creating an eyesore and a safety hazard.
Councillor Pushes for CCTV and Prosecutions
Councillor Feeney is pressing for CCTV installation to catch the culprits and prevent future incidents. He stated, It is our main road into Solihull from the north and the first thing our visitors see. It does not paint us in a good light! Like all Castle Bromwich residents, he expressed frustration, saying, I am absolutely sick and tired of this.
He has contacted council officers to advocate for surveillance and a proper investigation. We have to send a message that this is not acceptable, nor is it fair that taxpayers foot the bill for this criminality, Feeney emphasized, vowing to keep a close eye on the issue.
