The Met Office has warned that the Midlands could see heavy rain on Bank Holiday Monday, August 31, with a 'few heavy and possible thundery showers' expected across the region.
A 'rather showery morning' was forecast, but conditions were set to brighten up during the afternoon, with maximum temperatures of 21C expected.

The Met Office's weather forecast read: "A rather showery morning to come, with a few heavy and possible thundery showers. Showers easing this afternoon allowing more in the way of brightness to develop. Temperatures near average. Maximum temperature 21C."
Heading into the evening, any lingering showers were expected to 'quickly fade', with a 'mild night' predicted and 'a few mist patches developing' as temperatures dropped to lows of 10C.
Outlook for Tuesday and beyond
Looking ahead to Tuesday, September 1, the day was expected to get off to a 'dry and bright start'. The Met Office said: "Cloud will build towards lunchtime. A few showers then developing by the afternoon, but some places remaining dry."
A 'band of rain' was expected to cross the region on Wednesday, with 'further rain likely' on Thursday.
Temperatures near average into Friday
Temperatures were expected to remain 'near average' as 'drier and brighter' conditions resume on Friday, according to the Met Office forecast.
