A woman has been left with serious injuries following a two-car crash during Friday morning rush hour in Tamworth.
Emergency Response to A453 Collision
The incident occurred just off the A453 Sutton Road in Mile Oak, Tamworth, shortly before 9am on Friday, December 19. Emergency services were alerted at 8.53am.
West Midlands Ambulance Service dispatched a significant response team to the scene. This included an ambulance, a paramedic officer, and the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance.
Driver Freed from Vehicle
On arrival, crews found two vehicles involved: a Skoda Superb and a Nissan Micra. The driver of the Nissan Micra, a woman, was trapped and had to be freed from her vehicle by emergency personnel.
She received treatment at the scene for what were described as potentially serious injuries. Due to her condition, she was then conveyed by road ambulance to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire for further care.
The driver of the Skoda Superb remained at the location following the collision and is assisting Staffordshire Police with their ongoing enquiries.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
Staffordshire Police have launched an appeal for information regarding the serious collision. A force spokesperson confirmed they were called at 8.55am on December 19.
Investigators are urging anyone who witnessed the incident, or who may have relevant dashcam, CCTV, or doorbell footage, to come forward.
