Rygbi Gogledd Cymru (RGC) have announced Hope House Tŷ Gobaith children’s hospices as their official charity of the year for the 2026/27 season. The region’s premier rugby side will provide both financial and practical support to the hospices, which care for 750 local children and families living with life-threatening conditions.
Support package includes ticket sales and player involvement
RGC’s backing will include donating a percentage of ticket sales, organising sponsored events, involving players in hospice activities, and wearing a special match shirt to raise awareness. The partnership aims to generate vital funds and visibility for the charity across North Wales.
Alun Pritchard, RGC’s general manager, said: "RGC is proud to support Hope House and Tŷ Gobaith Children’s Hospices as our official charity this year. The incredible work they do for children living with life-threatening conditions and their families across North Wales makes a real difference every day. We are honoured to help raise awareness and vital funds for such an important cause."
Midnight Pyjama Walk sponsorship and Stadiwm Eirias start point
As part of the collaboration, RGC will sponsor the hospices’ Midnight Pyjama Walk in September and will lend their home ground, Stadiwm Eirias, as the starting point for the event. This hands-on support underscores the club’s commitment beyond matchdays.
Courtney Harris, a fundraiser at Tŷ Gobaith, is working closely with the club and commented: "RGC are more than just a team – they are a real part of their community, and their work goes way beyond that on the field. They are an ideal partner for us as they share our values and are a focal point for many local families. We are all looking forward to creating many memories together for our families and are truly grateful to all at RGC."
