The NHS Prescription Prepayment Certificate Explained
Officially known as the NHS Prescription Prepayment Certificate (PPC), this scheme allows individuals to cover all NHS prescriptions for a set price. Patients can achieve significant savings if they require more than three items in three months or eleven items in twelve months. With the standard prescription charge in England standing at £9.90 per item, the PPC offers a more economical solution.
The current costs for a PPC are:
- £32.05 for a 3-month certificate
- £114.50 for a 12-month certificate
Rising Numbers of Missed Savings Opportunities
