Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has announced he was diagnosed with prostate cancer after a malignant tumour was discovered and removed during monitoring following earlier surgery for an enlarged benign prostate.
In a post on X on Friday, Netanyahu disclosed he had been diagnosed with a malignant tumour, which had since been "removed", following successful surgery for an enlarged benign prostate. He stated that treatment had "removed the problem and left no trace of it".

The 76-year-old Prime Minister revealed that doctors identified an early-stage malignant tumour during a routine medical check-up, but delayed releasing the findings. Netanyahu explained he requested the suppression of his medical records amid the ongoing conflict with Iran, seeking to prevent Tehran from spreading "even more false propaganda against Israel". Israel joined forces with the US to attack Tehran on February 28.

Netanyahu disclosed that the initial surgery was carried out to address an enlarged benign prostate roughly 18 months ago, and that he has been under close medical supervision ever since. He added that a "tiny spot of less than a centimetre" was subsequently identified during a more recent examination. "I had a minor medical issue with my prostate that was completely treated. Thank God, it's behind me," he said.
Declaring he is in "excellent physical condition", Netanyahu assured the public that the malignant tumour has been removed with no remaining trace, and he continues to lead the country amidst ongoing regional tensions.
