Television presenter and former England footballer Alex Scott faced a hidden medical crisis during her time on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!, which was never broadcast to viewers.
Jungle Panic: The Unseen Medical Emergency
Alex Scott required immediate medical assistance after discovering a tick embedded in her shoulder, an incident that left her 'panicking'. The scare happened after a task involving carrying logs. Scott initially mistook the lump for a large spot, but fellow campmate Kelly Brook identified it as a tick and urgently insisted she seek help.
Scott recalled the moment, saying she was sitting next to Martin Roberts when she felt the lump. 'I asked him to have a look, then Kelly jumps up and says, 'It's a tick.'' She admitted she knew about the risks of ticks and leeches but never thought it would happen to her. The medical team successfully removed the tick, and Scott noted that no other campmates had suffered a similar bite, though Ginge was affected by leeches in the humid environment.
Personal Turmoil and the Salt Smuggling Scandal
Beyond the health scare, Alex Scott spoke candidly about the emotional challenge of her jungle exit. She revealed her mood dropped when she learned her girlfriend, pop star Jess Glynne, was not waiting for her at the famous bridge reunion.
This absence was due to a serious family emergency. Even before flying to Australia, Jess Glynne's mother had suffered a major stroke, requiring urgent brain surgery. Scott confessed she was '100 percent' conflicted about whether to pull out of the show, but it was Jess who convinced her to take part. 'It's been a tough time for us and obviously her family,' Scott explained, 'but Jess never wanted me to step away from not doing it.'
Following Scott's exit, Jess Glynne took to social media to clarify her absence, stating it had been a 'really serious, life-altering time' and she needed to stay close to home, adding, 'Alex would always want me to be where I'm needed most.'
Scott also addressed one of the camp's lighthearted controversies: her secret salt smuggling operation. The camp forfeited a star after she was caught sneaking in seasoning using crocodile feet. 'I felt like such a naughty schoolgirl,' she laughed. Scott confessed she took the salt sachets from a service station, hiding them in her socks, and revealed several campmates, including Jack, Ginge, and Shona, were in on the secret stash.
Looking Ahead: Predictions for the Winner
When asked for her prediction on who would be crowned King or Queen of the Jungle, Alex Scott believed it would come down to a viewer favourite. She tipped the title would likely be between Ginge and Aitch, citing their fan bases and how they've performed in trials. Despite her support for the boys, she added, 'I'd love for Shona to win, that would be a beautiful story.'
