Busted Star James Bourne to Undergo Life-Extending Surgery After Health Crisis
Busted singer James Bourne has issued a concerning health update, revealing he is scheduled for major surgery aimed at prolonging his life. This announcement comes after the musician fell gravely ill last year, forcing him to withdraw from the opening night of the band's tour in Birmingham with just hours to spare.
James has been largely absent from the public eye for approximately six months, following his sudden illness. At the time, he did not disclose specific details about his health problems, leaving fans worried about his condition.
Instagram Update Reveals Surgery Plans
In a recent Instagram story, Bourne shared his plans with followers, stating, "I have a plan in place to have major surgery that should extend my life and hopefully make me well enough to come back to what I love the most, which is touring and making music." He expressed frustration at being out of the music scene but remained hopeful about his recovery.
The singer first rose to fame in 2002 as part of Busted, alongside Charlie Simpson and Matt Willis, with hits like "What I Go To School For." His health issues emerged just before a highly anticipated joint tour with McFly in September, leading to his last-minute cancellation.
Previous Statement on Birmingham Tour Cancellation
In a statement released at the time of the tour's start, James explained, "The VS tour kicks off tomorrow night in Birmingham, and as excited as I've been all year for this tour to begin, I'm really sorry to say that over the last 8 days, it has become clear that I am not in good enough health to play these shows." He emphasized that his bandmates and management supported his decision to focus on medical treatment, hoping for a future return to performing.
Fans and the music community are now rallying behind Bourne as he prepares for this critical surgery, wishing him a successful procedure and a swift recovery to the stage.
