A Neighbourhood Mental Health Café has opened at The Well in Kibworth, providing a safe and welcoming space for adults aged 18 and over who may be experiencing mental health challenges.
Part of a wider network run by Turning Point across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland, the café offers informal, drop-in support from trained staff. Visitors can talk through concerns, receive practical advice and coping strategies, and find out about other local services.
The café aims to support people experiencing a range of issues, including anxiety, stress, isolation or feeling overwhelmed, in a relaxed, non-judgemental environment. No referral is needed.
Sessions take place every Thursday from 4.30pm to 7.30pm, offering regular access to support within the local community.
The initiative builds on similar cafés already operating across the region and forms part of a broader effort to make mental health support more accessible.
Rachael Richardson, community outreach lead and mental health cafes manager for Turning Point, said: "Turning Point are incredibly grateful and humbled to be in a position to offer support to the Kibworth and surrounding villages. Having had success with cafes in Leicester City, Hinckley, Loughborough and the neighbouring Market Harborough, we have every confidence in this new venture also in Kibworth."

Teresa Spilsbury, neighbourhood lead (mental health) for Harborough and Lutterworth at Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust, added: "Neighbourhood Mental Health Cafes are delivered across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland (LLR). There is a café open every day of the week, although these can be anywhere across Leicester, Leicestershire or Rutland. You can attend any café, anywhere. Please use your local Kibworth Café if you are struggling with your mental health."
