NHS Staff Have 24 Hours to Claim £30 Uber Christmas Freebie
NHS staff: 24 hours left for £30 Uber Christmas offer

NHS staff across the UK are in a race against time to secure a special festive gift from Uber. The transport and delivery giant is offering healthcare workers a package of discounts worth up to £30, but they must act within the next 24 hours to be eligible.

The Festive Freebie: What's on Offer for NHS Heroes

In a gesture of seasonal gratitude, Uber is providing a dual discount for use exclusively on December 25, 2025. The offer consists of two key parts designed to ease the burden for those working over the holiday.

Firstly, staff can get £10 off two separate Uber rides. This discount is valid for the first 15,000 trips booked on Christmas Day. Secondly, a £10 discount for Uber Eats is available, applicable to either a meal or a grocery delivery. This part of the offer covers the first 30,000 eligible deliveries.

How to Claim the Christmas Discounts

The claim process is straightforward but time-sensitive. To receive the promotional codes, NHS employees must ensure their personal Uber account is linked to their official NHS email address. This crucial step must be completed by 11.59pm on Sunday, December 21.

Those who register successfully will then receive their unique promo codes via email. It is vital to note that the codes are only valid for redemption on Christmas Day itself.

Voices of Appreciation from Uber and the NHS

Andrew Brem, General Manager at Uber UK, explained the company's motivation behind the initiative. "We are all indebted to the incredible NHS and HSC workers who selflessly care for the nation over the festive season," he said.

"At Uber, we’re proud to support the NHS, whether it's through essential patient and staff travel provided year-round by Uber Health, or by giving discounted rides to the wonderful people who keep the service going on Christmas Day," Brem added. "This initiative is simply our way of expressing how immensely grateful we are for the vital work of the healthcare sector both at Christmas and throughout the year."

The offer has been welcomed by frontline staff. Helen Garnett, a paediatric intensive care nurse, highlighted the practical help it provides. "Getting home from a shift at the hospital is always more difficult on Christmas Day," she noted. "It’s nice to know that Uber is gifting us some much-needed time to put our feet up and enjoy a delicious meal."

Uber has described the package as a 'small gesture' intended to 'brighten the day' for healthcare professionals who spend the holiday caring for others.

A Time-Sensitive Opportunity for Support

This initiative underscores the ongoing recognition for NHS staff during a period when most of the country is celebrating at home. The strict 24-hour deadline for registration emphasises the urgency for workers who wish to benefit.

With the combination of travel and food discounts, the offer aims to provide tangible support, making Christmas Day slightly easier for those on duty. It serves as a reminder of the essential services maintained by the NHS, even on the most significant public holidays.
