The inaugural Charnwood Community Health and Wellbeing event will take place on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at Charnwood Borough Council offices on Southfield Road in Loughborough. The free drop-in session runs from 2pm to 6pm, offering residents a single-visit opportunity to connect with health providers, local charities, and support teams.
One-Stop Shop for Community Care
The event is designed as an accessible, informative gathering where visitors can obtain guidance on a wide range of topics, including health checks, vaccinations, dementia, mental health, menopause, and healthy living. Advice on employment and money will also be available, while activities in nearby Southfields Park will encourage physical activity.
Organised by Charnwood Borough Council, the event is supported by the Charnwood Health and Wellbeing Partnership, Charnwood GP Federation, More Leisure, and the NHS. This collaborative effort aims to bring local support services directly to the public, making it easier for residents to access practical health advice and wellbeing resources.
Expert Advice and Local Support
Cllr Liz Blackshaw, the Council’s lead member for communities and neighbourhoods, said: “Good health and wellbeing are important to everyone, and I would encourage residents to come along and find out what support is available.” She added: “With a wide range of organisations attending, the event offers a great opportunity to speak directly to experts, ask questions and access advice that could benefit you, your family or your friends.”
Attendees will have the chance to interact with professionals from various health and social care sectors, gaining insights that could help improve their quality of life. The event underscores the Council’s commitment to fostering community wellbeing and ensuring that residents are aware of the wealth of wellness resources available locally.

The initiative reflects a broader effort to integrate health and wellbeing services into the community, making it simpler for individuals to find the help they need. By bringing together multiple organisations under one roof, the event aims to reduce barriers to accessing care and promote proactive health management among Charnwood’s population.
