Birmingham is set for a warm, dry and bright day today, but health officials have issued a UV warning as levels reach 7 on Saturday, August 1.
According to the West Midlands forecast, maximum temperatures will climb to 24C, with much of the region enjoying highs of around 22C or even up to 24C. The forecast, carried by BirminghamLive, said: "Today: Any mist patches quickly clearing this morning to leave a dry and sunny morning. A little fair weather cloud will bubble up this afternoon, but still plenty of warm sunny spells. Maximum temperature 24C."
UV health warning
Despite the pleasant conditions, the UV index is rated at 7, which is classified as "high". Sunbathers and anyone spending time outdoors are urged to seek shade during midday hours, cover up with suitable clothing, and apply sunscreen generously.
The warning applies across the entire West Midlands, including Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Coventry, and surrounding areas. Prolonged exposure to high UV levels can cause sunburn, premature skin ageing, and increase the risk of skin cancer over time.
