West Midlands Police have arrested a man in connection with the violent carjacking of a nurse outside a Birmingham hospital. The incident occurred on Tuesday evening when the nurse was approached by a man who demanded her car keys, then struck her with the vehicle as he drove off.
Details of the Attack
The nurse, who has not been named, was leaving work at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Edgbaston when she was targeted. The suspect allegedly grabbed her car keys, got into her vehicle, and drove into her as she tried to intervene. She sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
Arrest Made
Police confirmed that a 30-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of robbery and assault. He remains in custody for questioning. Detective Sergeant Paul Hughes said: "This was a terrifying ordeal for the victim, who was simply trying to leave work. We are pleased to have made a swift arrest and are continuing our investigations."
