Great Barr driver arrested after police find drugs and cash

West Midlands Police have arrested a 31-year-old man from Great Barr after uncovering a quantity of Class A drugs, cash, and drug paraphernalia during a vehicle stop in Smethwick.

Traffic stop leads to discovery

The incident occurred on Monday evening, July 6, on Windmill Crescent in Smethwick. Officers acting on intelligence stopped the vehicle and subsequently searched it, finding the illicit items.

The driver, from Great Barr, was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs. He has since been released on bail while police continue their investigation.

Police appeal for information

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: "We’ve recovered drugs and cash from a vehicle in Smethwick. Acting on information, officers stopped a vehicle on Windmill Crescent on Monday evening (6 Jul). A quantity of class A drugs, cash, and drug paraphernalia were recovered. A man aged 31 from Great Barr was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs and has been bailed while our investigation continues."

The force has urged the public to report any suspicious activity or drug-related crime by calling 101, or 999 in an emergency.
