Man Charged with Wounding After Birmingham Assault

A man has been charged with wounding after a man in his 60s was found unconscious on a major road in Birmingham. The incident occurred on Soho Road in Handsworth, near Rookery Road, shortly before 11pm on Thursday, 23 April.

The victim remains in hospital with serious injuries. Initial police inquiries suggested he had been punched.

Arrest and Charges

Kumarlo McKoy, 36, from Birmingham, was arrested on Sunday, 26 April, and later charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. He appeared at Birmingham Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, 28 April, where he was remanded in custody ahead of a further hearing next month.

Police Appeal

West Midlands Police have issued an appeal for information, stating: "We are continuing to carry out a full range of enquiries and would now like to speak to a second man in connection with our investigation. We would also like to hear from anyone who was there at the time, or who has footage from the area."
