Murder Probe After Man Found Dead in Loughborough Caravan

A murder investigation has been launched after a man was found dead in a caravan in Loughborough. Police were called to Derby Road at around 11.40pm on Monday, July 6, following a report of a sudden death. East Midlands Ambulance Service attended the scene, where the victim, a man in his 40s, was pronounced dead.

Arrest Made

A 56-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody. Police confirmed that the victim had been involved in an altercation in the days prior to his death.

Police Investigation

Detective Inspector Mike Chandler, from the East Midlands Special Operations Unit (EMSOU), is leading the investigation. He stated: "I've got a dedicated team of officers working to understand what's happened in this altercation and the events that led to the death of this man."

Officers will remain in the area for several days conducting forensic examinations and enquiries. A cordon remains in place at the scene.
