Rachel Reeves' New Summer Cost-of-Living Payments: How to Apply in June
Summer Cost-of-Living Payments: Apply Now via Councils

Chancellor Rachel Reeves has confirmed details of a new fund offering cost-of-living payments this summer. The Crisis and Resilience Fund (CRF) replaces the Household Support Fund, and councils are now processing claims.

Who Can Apply?

Households do not need to be on benefits to qualify. Priority is given to those in urgent need, such as low-income parents. Anyone worried about bills should check their local council's website for details.

How Much Will You Get?

Individual councils run their own schemes and decide payment amounts. Some households may receive hundreds of pounds. Those who received a Household Support Fund payment in the past 12 months are not eligible.

Application Process

Applications are made through local councils. Birmingham Voluntary Service Council advises that the enquiry and application process remains the same as before. If you submitted a successful enquiry from May 1 2026, you are on a waiting list and will be contacted.
