Tesco has announced new home delivery rules effective from July 14, opening access to an eight-week view of summer slots for Home Delivery and Click+Collect. Priority slots will be released on July 14, with general slots following on July 21. The supermarket giant also confirmed that same-day Home Delivery and Click+Collect slots are available at no extra cost from selected stores until September 6.
Extended Summer Slot Availability
The move allows customers to plan ahead for the busy summer period, including family trips, BBQs, and school holidays. Rob Graham, Tesco Online Director, stated: "Summer can be one of the busiest times of the year, whether you're planning a family trip away, hosting a BBQ, enjoying a day out or simply keeping everyone fed and entertained during the school holidays. We want to make it easier for customers to get organised and plan ahead."
Tesco is also increasing Click+Collect slots at stores near popular UK holiday destinations, making it quicker for customers to pick up essentials en route to their accommodation. For urgent needs, the Whoosh service can deliver to customers in as little as 20 minutes.
Same-Day and Next-Day Delivery Details
For next-day deliveries, customers can amend their Grocery Home Shopping order until 11:45 pm the evening before. For same-day slots, orders must be placed by 8:45 am to receive home delivery from 1 pm the same day, or by 12 noon for Click+Collect slots. Tesco also reminds customers that Delivery Saver plans can reduce the cost of regular online grocery orders, with plans starting from £2.49 per month for 6 or 12 months.
Impact on Birmingham and UK Customers
Tesco operates branches across Birmingham and the UK, and the new rules aim to provide greater flexibility and convenience. The extended eight-week booking window and increased same-day availability are designed to meet customer demand during the peak summer season.
