Two Pupils Hospitalized After Police Called to School

Two pupils at a Nottinghamshire primary school have been taken to hospital as a precaution after emergency services were called to the site this afternoon. Police and paramedics arrived at Jesse Gray Primary School in West Bridgford at around 2:17pm on June 3 after receiving a call from the school.

According to NottinghamshireLive, the nature of the incident remains unclear. However, a police spokesperson confirmed that the incident is not being treated as a crime, and officers attended in a supportive capacity.

Local Councillor Provides Update

Councillor Jonathan Wheeler, who represents West Bridgford South on Nottinghamshire County Council, said he was contacted by concerned residents who noticed a large number of ambulances outside the school. He spoke with the school and learned that two pupils had been taken to hospital for precautionary checks.

“The parents are aware, and I won’t say more for their privacy,” Wheeler said. “Given the nature of messages and rumors circulating, the school is happy for me to share this update. Thank you.”

Police Statement

A Nottinghamshire Police spokesperson reiterated that the incident is not believed to be criminal. “Officers were at the scene in a supportive capacity,” the spokesperson added.

The school has not released further details, and the pupils’ conditions are not known at this time. The community has been reassured that the situation is under control.
