Reform UK’s Straight-Talking Approach Wins 22 Seats in Dudley Council
Reform UK Gains 22 Seats in Dudley Council Election

Reform UK made significant gains in the Dudley borough during the 2026 local elections, securing 22 additional seats and bringing their total representation on the council to 23. This shift has altered the balance of power, with the Conservative Party now holding only 27 seats—10 short of a majority.

Shift in Council Control

While Reform UK does not hold outright control, the election results necessitate coalition talks to form an administration. Cooperation between political groups will be essential to govern effectively.

Reaction from Reform UK Leadership

Cllr Marco Longhi, Reform's Dudley chairman, expressed elation at the outcome: "I am absolutely elated. I was coming in thinking if we get 15 out of the available 25 I would be a very happy man, 22 is amazing. Every single Reform councillor will put the people of Dudley first, we will be fighting for every single person in Dudley whether they voted for us or not."

Cllr Shaun Kesey, who won in Sedgley, attributed the party's success to their straightforward approach: "We're different, we say what we think, we say what we believe and we go out there and talk to people and get things done."
