The vote count for the 2026 local elections in Birmingham was in full swing this afternoon, with results for hundreds of candidates facing make-or-break outcomes. All 101 seats across 69 wards on Birmingham City Council were up for grabs.
Reform UK made large gains nationally and enjoyed some strong early results in Birmingham, while Labour and the Conservatives faced setbacks in multiple regions. Birmingham saw a spread of results, with Labour, the Greens, Reform UK, and the Conservatives all holding between seven and nine seats just before 5pm.
Current Seat Distribution
As of 4:36pm, the Green Party held the most seats with nine, followed by the Conservatives with eight. Reform UK and Labour each held seven, Independents had five, the Liberal Democrats had three, and Labour and the Co-operative Party held one.

According to the latest election map, the number of votes for Reform UK in declared wards is as follows:

- Pype Hayes: 1,073
- Shard End: 1,262
- Rubery and Rednal: 943
- Frankley Great Park: 1,192
- Northfield: 1,317
- Allens Cross: 941
