The release comes just days before Oasis confirmed new world tour dates for 2027, following weeks of speculation.
Documentary features first joint interviews in over 20 years
The film charts Liam and Noel Gallagher's triumphant reunion world tour, Oasis Live '25, and includes rehearsal footage alongside backstage and onstage access. Notably, it features the first joint interviews with the brothers in over 20 years, following their acrimonious split in 2009. The documentary also explores the emotional significance of the cultural moment and examines why the band's music continues to resonate with generations of fans, both old and new.
Released on Wednesday, the film has received positive critical reviews, earning three stars from The Financial Times and four stars from The Guardian, The Independent and The Telegraph. Rolling Stone praised the documentary for getting "to the heart of a band that means so much to so many".
Knight's approach: a film about reconciliation
Knight, best known for creating the hit drama Peaky Blinders, previously told the Press Association that cameras were set up in the rehearsal room to capture events as organically as possible, deliberately avoiding making "the film about the making of a concert tour". He added: "I sort of insisted that this was how we should approach it: that this was going to be a film about reconciliation and forgiveness."
The iconic band have amassed eight UK number one singles and eight UK number one albums, with Wonderwall, Don't Look Back In Anger and Roll With It amongst their most celebrated tracks. Co-directed by Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace, the film will be shown at cinemas nationwide until September 24, before becoming available to watch on Disney.
2027 world tour announced
The documentary's release came shortly before the band's announcement confirming new dates for fans scheduled for next year. Following weeks of speculation, Oasis unveiled a world tour, taking in stadium shows in Manchester, Glasgow, Munich, Amsterdam, Barcelona and Ireland. The full list of dates has been published, and the tour is set to build on the success of the reunion concerts captured in the film.
