Jhon Solis has outlined his determination to 'give everything' to help Birmingham City achieve their Premier League dream after completing a permanent move to the club. The Colombian midfielder has rejoined Blues from Spanish side Girona for a fee of around £6 million, signing a four-year contract following a successful loan spell at St Andrew's @ Knighthead Park last season.
Solis' Impact at Birmingham
Solis quickly became a key figure under manager Chris Davies and a firm favourite with supporters, thanks to his combative and all-action performances in midfield. The 21-year-old is eager to continue in the same vein. 'I am going to give everything for this club and the people that trusted me from day one,' Solis said in his first interview. 'Grit and heart will never be lacking. I am going to use my experience to try to make sure we can win every possible match.'
Partnerships and Squad Depth
Last season, Solis built strong partnerships with Paik Seung-ho and Tomoki Iwata. Footage released by the club on Monday showed him conversing with Iwata at the training ground. Blues are expected to add another midfielder to their squad to replace the outgoing Tommy Doyle and provide competition for Solis, Paik, and Iwata.
Ambitions for the Season
After finishing 10th last season, Birmingham are aiming for a top-eight finish to secure a play-off spot. Solis expressed his belief in the club's project: 'From the first day I arrived, I felt the desire to be bigger, to improve, to be better than yesterday. I think this is a great project. I believe in it, we all believe in it, and we hope this will be a great year.'
