Warrington Masters swimmers shine in world and European rankings

Warrington Masters Swimming Club has achieved notable success in the recently released 2025 World Masters rankings, with several swimmers featuring prominently in both individual and team relay events. The club also celebrated victories at the Windermere EPIC open water event, where Birkenhead's Laura Moran won the 1500m competition and Wirral-based Andy Murphy finished third in the 5km contest.

World Masters Short Course rankings

In the World Masters Short Course rankings, Ben Harkin ranks first in both the 100m and 200m Breaststroke, third in the 200m Freestyle, and fourth in the 50m Breaststroke. He also features in the top ten for the 50m and 100m Freestyle. Mark Jones is ninth in the 1500m Freestyle, while Spencer Glover is tenth in the 100m Freestyle. The Men's Medley Relay team is ranked sixth in the 240+ Age Group.

European rankings success

In the European Rankings, Ben Harkin is third in the 50m Breaststroke, as well as in the 100m and 200m Freestyle, and fourth in the 50m Freestyle, in addition to his top rankings in the 100m and 200m Breaststroke. Mark Jones moves up to third in the 1500m Freestyle and seventh in the 800m Freestyle.

Russ Mason is ranked sixth in the 100m Breaststroke, seventh in the 50m, and tenth in the 200m, and is also fourth in the 100m Individual Medley. In the 100m Butterfly, Graeme Atherton is seventh and Spencer Glover tenth. Carl Barkley features three times, being eighth in the 50m Freestyle and 50m Backstroke and tenth in the 50m Breaststroke. Clive Roberts is sixth in the 200m Butterfly and ninth in the 400m Freestyle, while Josh Moniz is ninth in the 200m Backstroke. The Men's Medley Relay team is ranked third.

Long Course and open water results

In the European Long Course charts, Ben Harkin is fourth in the 200m Breaststroke, Josh Moniz fourth in the 200m Backstroke, and Mark Jones eighth in the 1500m Freestyle. At the Windermere EPIC event, Laura Moran took first place in the 1500m competition, and Andy Murphy finished third in the 5km contest with a time of 1 hour 34 minutes 3 seconds.
