Aston Villa will not be wearing their traditional claret and blue when they face SC Freiburg in the Europa League final in Istanbul. The club has confirmed they will wear their third kit due to a clash with Freiburg's all-red colours.
Kit Change and Sponsorship Details
Villa announced that the shirts will not feature main sponsor Betano on the front because of licensing regulations in Turkey. Instead, the Aston Villa Foundation will be displayed as the front-of-shirt sponsor for the final.
"Aston Villa can confirm our 2025/26 adidas third kit will be worn in the UEFA Europa League Final in Istanbul," said the club. "The shirt, selected due to a kit clash with SC Freiburg's traditional all-red colours, will be adorned with a special Match ID to mark the occasion and will bear the name of the Aston Villa Foundation as the front of shirt sponsor."
The club added: "Due to licensing regulations in Turkey, our Principal Partner Betano has kindly donated their usual branding space to the Aston Villa Foundation for the Final."
Limited-Edition Shirts Available
Supporters can purchase the limited-edition shirts from the Villa Park and Bullring stores from Friday, May 15, available in Authentic or Replica versions. Every purchase includes a £10 donation to the Aston Villa Foundation, supporting their charitable, educational, and outreach programmes.
