Aston Villa has confirmed that fans do not need tickets for the UEFA Europa League parade scheduled for Thursday, May 21. The celebration follows Aston Villa's emphatic 3-0 victory over Freiburg in Istanbul, Turkey, on Wednesday night.
Free Event for All
Villa confirmed that no tickets are required, stating: "This is a free event, and everyone is welcome to join the celebrations. There will be a security presence throughout the route, and we ask that you comply with any checks carried out by stewards or police officers. Access to certain areas may be restricted once they reach capacity."
Unai Emery's Remarks
The parade will feature manager Unai Emery, who secured another UEFA Europa League title. Despite his success, Emery humbly remarked that he is not the "king" of the competition. He said: "I am really proud and grateful for competing in Europe, and through the clubs, supporters, and history like Villarreal and Sevilla, I am thankful for them. Because without them I am not being successful in this competition. This is the reason I am not feeling the king of this competition, I am feeling thankful. We are the king together, and of course, I have my responsibility as a coach to get it."
Match Recap
Villa dominated the final, scoring three goals to brush Freiburg aside. Emery, however, insisted his side never considered themselves favorites. He added: "To win is difficult and to play a final is very difficult. How they beat teams before in the semi-final, they deserved to be here. They are a good team with a good coach. The teams are here because they deserve it. In the hotel we were speaking, we did not think we were favourites for this."
