Aston Villa sets rules for flags and banners at parade

Aston Villa has officially confirmed the dress code for today's parade celebrating the UEFA Europa League victory, including specific rules regarding flags and banners. The club announced the parade details for Thursday, May 21, following the triumphant win.

Flags and Banners Policy

Discussing the use of flags and banners, the club stated: "Yes – and we encourage you to show your Villa colours! Please ensure any messages are appropriate and not of a political, offensive or inflammatory nature." Supporters are urged to display their team pride responsibly.

Public Facilities and Respect for Residents

Public toilet facilities, including accessible toilets, are available at Centenary Square. Villa warned: "Please be respectful of local residents and use the facilities provided rather than causing disruption to the surrounding area." Attendees are reminded to maintain consideration for the community.

Child Safety Measures

All stewards and police officers on duty are briefed on the correct procedure for lost or found children. If separated from a child, contact the nearest steward or police officer immediately. Villa recommended: "We suggest agreeing on a meeting point with your group before the parade begins."

Vehicle Restrictions

Vehicle movements of any kind within the city centre are discouraged throughout the day as access and egress cannot be guaranteed. Access will be facilitated where authorised, but restrictions will be in place from approximately 10am until 10pm.

Match Recap

During the final, Youri Tielemans and Emiliano Buendia each scored a goal at the end of the first half. Morgan Rogers added a third in the 58th minute, sparking jubilant scenes at the final whistle. The Prince of Wales attended to see his beloved side win their first silverware since the League Cup in 1996.

Manager's Reaction

Unai Emery said: "Of course the ambition of the club is important and how we did the process and we are of course in this process makes sense. With this trophy we are showing our development as well. My dream when I arrived here was to play in Europe, play for trophies. This is the first one we are achieving, we played a semi-final before and the experiences we are having like today is important with how we can get better."
