Birmingham City are set to be without three key players for their final home game of the season against Bristol City at St Andrew's @ Knighthead Park on Saturday afternoon (3pm).
Ibrahim Osman ruled out with concussion
Ibrahim Osman looks to have played his final game at St Andrew's @ Knighthead Park this season after suffering a head injury in the 2-1 win over Preston North End on Wednesday. The 21-year-old Ghanaian winger was forced off in the 37th minute following a clash of heads and concussion protocols will likely rule him out of the Bristol City match.
Speaking after the Preston game, Blues boss Chris Davies confirmed: "My understanding is that he would be OK for the final game. For this weekend, I would presume not." Osman could be available for the season finale at Portsmouth next weekend.
Kyogo Furuhashi undergoes shoulder surgery
Japanese striker Kyogo Furuhashi has been ruled out for the remainder of the campaign after opting for shoulder surgery. The 31-year-old suffered a recurrence of a long-standing shoulder issue earlier this year, and Blues decided to end his season to address the problem permanently. Furuhashi has struggled with the injury for several years, and the surgery aims to resolve it once and for all.
Lee Buchanan suffers fresh setback
Left-back Lee Buchanan made his long-awaited return to action with the under-21s in March after 14 months out with a knee injury, but he has suffered another setback. Davies confirmed: "He's picked up another knock unfortunately, which is really hard to take for Lee and everyone around him because he's been training really well. It looks like that will set him back another few weeks."
Birmingham City will provide a full injury update at Davies' press conference on Friday. The rest of the squad appeared to come through the Preston match unscathed.
