Birmingham City Release 14 Players, Offer Two Deals

Birmingham City have become the latest Championship club to release their retained list following the end of the 2025/26 season. The club has confirmed the departure of defender Jonathan Panzo at the end of his contract.

Jonathan Panzo Departs

Panzo joined Blues on a six-month contract from Portuguese side Rio Ave in January, hoping to secure a longer deal at St Andrew's @ Knighthead Park. However, he leaves after making nine appearances for the club.

Loan Players Return

Blues have also confirmed that Tommy Doyle, James Beadle, Jhon Solis, and Ibrahim Osman have returned to their parent clubs following respective loan spells. Blues boss Chris Davies is keen to see Solis and Osman return to Blues on permanent deals.

New Contract Offers

Blues have offered a new deal to third-choice goalkeeper Bradley Mayo, who has been a presence in the first-team squad over the past two seasons without playing a fixture. Fellow rookie goalkeeper Will O'Sullivan has also been offered a new contract.

Youngsters Released

Thirteen youngsters have been released by Blues following the end of their contracts. Yusuf Ahmed, Godfred Boakye, Trae Briscoe, O'Shea Ellis, Cameron Eubank, Tommy Fogarty, Daniel Isichei, Cody Pennington, Frank Tattum, Szymon Terenowicz, Zachary Willis, Ben Wodskou, and George Wynne will all officially depart Blues when their deals expire at the end of June.

Isichei and Wynne were named on the bench for the first team at points last season without making their Blues debuts.

Contract Extensions

Blues have taken up their 12-month options on Briar Bateman, Billy Burrell, Caleb Sanders, Alezandro Da Silva, and Tyrese Warmington to extend their contracts until 2027.
