Aston Villa star Emiliano Buendia has described a fan's tattoo commemorating the club's historic Europa League triumph as "unbelievable."
Villa season ticket holder Scott Wood marked his team's special victory in Istanbul by having a tattoo of the European trophy and Buendia inked on his leg.
The Argentine midfielder, who scored with a stunning strike for Villa's second in his side's 3-0 dismantling of SC Freiburg, shared a photo of the tattoo on X.
Replying to Scott on the social media platform, the Number 10 said: "Unbelievable mate."
Scott, 36, from Doncaster, followed in his dad's footsteps when he chose to support the claret and blue side as a youngster. He travels week in week out from his home city to watch Villa from the North Stand.
His tattoo also features a line from Darren Fletcher's commentary on the night - 'Buendia with a beauty on the banks of the Bosphorus'.
Scott praised Fletcher for delivering "the greatest line of commentary since Brian Moore in 1982", while the TNT Sports commentator replied saying he was "honoured" by the tribute.
Scott said he will return to Altitude Tattoo Studio in his home city in the coming weeks to have his ink shaded. "When it's complete, it'll be a bloody masterpiece!" he said.
Speaking to BirminghamLive, Scott said: "I know I've bleated on about my trip to Istanbul and watching us lift the trophy enough, but I told myself if we win I'm getting something done to remember the occasion.
"The entire trip was just me and my dad. It was the trip of a lifetime. I was asked if I really wanted a mosque and the Turkey flag tattooed on me, but it's not just the game I'll always remember. That city holds such a special place in all of our hearts now.
"As for THAT goal by Emi... it will go down in my mind as the greatest goal I've ever seen in the flesh. Youri's goal was special too. But it was when Emi scored that a wave of emotion washed over me, and I just knew that was it - we'd be champions."
He praised Fletcher's commentary as "iconic." "It'll go down in history," said Scott. "It needs its own banner in the new North Stand to sit alongside the 'Peter Withe, It Must Be, It Is!' banner."
"Can't wait for the next tattoo session, and for next year when I'll get my left leg done with the European Cup."
Scott thanked Amber at the tattoo studio. He said: "She really does deserve recognition for it because she's fantastic. I couldn't recommend her enough."
