Daryl Dike's Emotional Message to West Brom Fans After Scoring Revival
Daryl Dike's Emotional Message to West Brom Fans

Daryl Dike has revealed there have been times at West Bromwich Albion where he ‘hasn’t believed in himself’ – as he hailed the Baggies fans for their unwavering support.

Dike’s lengthy injury issues since his £7 million arrival from Orlando City have been well documented. He has spent more time out of the side through injury than on the field, but having played a key role in the team’s recent revival, he has scored two crucial goals in the last two games.

He wrapped up the victory at Preston on Saturday that put Albion on the brink of survival. On Tuesday, he netted the second goal in a 3-0 win over Watford that secured Albion’s Championship survival – pending the outcome of the PSR financial issues.

Dike gave a special message to the Albion faithful, admitting there have been times where he hasn’t even believed in himself at The Hawthorns.

He told Albion News: “Throughout my time here, I’ve had some rough times so it is nice to have always had people supporting me and the fans, home and away.

“People always seem to believe in me at points where I haven’t even been able to believe in myself, so to have had that lift from the guys, the staff and fans no matter where I am, is a good feeling.

“Being able to go out on the pitch and reward them was a very good feeling.

“I want to thank them because I’ve been through many lows here, but the supporters have always picked me up, helped me out and even when there’s been times where I haven’t been believing in myself, they’ve supported me.

“Every time I hear them sing my name is a great feeling. I love it and it gives me more confidence to score and give back to them.”
