Wolverhampton Wanderers have confirmed the permanent departure of defender Dion Sanderson, who has joined Birmingham City on a long-term contract. The 23-year-old, who came through the Wolves academy, spent the second half of last season on loan at the Championship side, making 15 appearances and scoring one goal. Sanderson joined Wolves at the age of 13 and progressed through the youth ranks. He made his first-team debut in September 2020 in an EFL Cup tie against Stoke City. However, he failed to break into the Premier League side and had loan spells at Sunderland, Cardiff City, and Birmingham City before making the move permanent. In total, he made four senior appearances for Wolves.
