Ex-Wolves winger: Build 'team of men' for Championship

A former Wolverhampton Wanderers winger has urged the club to assemble a 'team of men' in order to secure an immediate return to the Premier League from the Championship.

Wolves' relegation from the top flight was confirmed following a defeat to Leeds United, combined with West Ham United's draw against Crystal Palace. Since returning from a three-and-a-half-week break, the team has suffered three consecutive losses, leading to boos directed at manager Rob Edwards after the full-time whistle in the defeat to Tottenham Hotspur.

Froggatt's Analysis

Former Wolves winger Steve Froggatt discussed the growing discontent towards Edwards on BBC WM's Football Phone-In. He also examined what the club needs to do during the summer transfer window to avoid a disappointing campaign in the second tier.

Froggatt stated: 'I know he is coming under fire from Wolves fans after the last three games. But who are you going to change to? Who is going to come in and magically improve that awful squad of players?'

Physical Demands of the Championship

He added: 'Right now, in the Championship you are going to go to places like Lincoln, Sincil Bank, where you are going to get a physical hiding. You have got to put together a team of men in the Championship, because if they don't they will come nowhere near that league, by the way.'

Froggatt's comments highlight the need for a more robust and physically imposing squad to cope with the demands of the Championship, as Wolves look to bounce back from their Premier League relegation.
