Nottingham Forest have received a mixed injury update ahead of their Europa League semi-final first leg against Aston Villa on Thursday evening at the City Ground.
The all-Premier League clash is one of the most anticipated matches of the season, with both teams vying for European glory. Villa are also fighting domestically to secure a Champions League spot, while Forest have turned around their Premier League fortunes and are currently on an eight-match unbeaten run, including a emphatic 5-0 win at Sunderland.
Forest boss Nuno Espirito Santo, referred to as Pereira in some reports, has been handed a boost with defender Jair Cunha returning to training on Wednesday morning. The Brazilian was forced off with an injury in the win at Sunderland, and after the match, Pereira admitted he was concerned. However, according to Nottingham Live, Cunha trained with teammates and could feature against Villa.
But there are setbacks. Midfielder Ibrahim Sangare and winger Dan Ndoye did not take part in the session and are training individually, with no indication of their fitness for Thursday.
Influential defender Murillo is all but ruled out after picking up a hamstring problem in a recent win over Burnley. Other absentees include Callum Hudson-Odoi and Willy Boly, who appear unlikely to be fit.
