Stella Mickunaite and Filip Gregov, the beloved couple from Married At First Sight Australia, have opened up about their surprise engagement and future wedding plans. The proposal, which took place during the Final Vows episode, left viewers in awe as Filip got down on one knee with a stunning diamond ring.
The Proposal
Filip, 37, knew Stella was the one early in the experiment. He sought his parents' blessing, who have been married for 40 years, before planning the surprise. He said, 'They could see my energy when I was with her and just saw that I was better with Stella.' The ring, an elongated cushion diamond on a plain gold band, was chosen without overthinking. Stella, 32, initially thought it was a prank but soon realized it was real, saying, 'I burst into tears as per usual. It felt like the world just dissolved.'
Celebration and Future Plans
After the proposal, the couple called Filip's parents and celebrated with Stella's best friends at a jazz bar with dancing and drinks. They plan an engagement party on a boat, the location of their last date, with 80 guests. Another celebration with MAFS co-stars is also in the works. For the wedding, they have agreed on Croatia, Filip's home country, as it holds sentimental value and is convenient for Stella's Lithuanian family. Filip explained, 'Stella's family could be there which would be amazing, and I have immediate family here in Australia but everyone else is overseas so it works out better.'
