Martinez Agrees Juventus Terms, €10m Fee Claimed

Emi Martinez has agreed terms with Serie A giants Juventus, according to reports in Italy. Website Football Italia says multiple sources including Sky Sport Italia and Corriere dello Sport report the Aston Villa goalkeeper has agreed a three-year deal. Journalist Gianluca Di Marzio claims the contract length has been agreed but not the salary.

End of an Era at Villa?

This could signal an end to his near six-year Villa career, during which he made 256 appearances, helped secure two Champions League qualification campaigns, and ended Villa's 30-year wait for major honors. Martinez is currently with Argentina preparing for the World Cup, though he has not played since the Europa League final and sat out warm-up games against Honduras and Iceland.

Transfer Hurdles Remain

Any transfer remains contingent on Juventus reaching an agreement with Villa, who have the 33-year-old under contract until 2029. That agreement does not yet exist. Corriere dello Sport claims Villa wants around €10 million, but Sky Sports suggests Juve effectively wants the goalkeeper for free given his age and desire to move to Turin.
