James Morrison is not willing to toast any achievements yet. The West Bromwich Albion head coach wants his troops to help get the party started in the carnival atmosphere at Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.
The Baggies travel to Hillsborough for the final clash of the season having secured the club's Championship safety with a stunning 10-match unbeaten run orchestrated by Morrison. The head coach, whose future at the helm has yet to be confirmed, is determined to underline a memorable stint by extending the remarkable sequence.
Albion away fans are set to bring colour to South Yorkshire with fancy dress in the away end to mark the final away fixture of the campaign and the season's end.
"I want to remain unbeaten really and so do the players," Morrison said. "I want them to continue that run, so we had a nice day off Sunday and Monday and then came back in ready to work again and finish the season well."
Morrison added: "I want to make it 11, I'll probably be greedy! We're professional and we're employed by the football club, so we'll keep going to the end. I want it for the players. I can imagine everyone's in fancy dress at the last away game, a tradition that they do. They're travelling up again to support us, so we need to respect that and put a performance on and go to win the game."
It was keen to be stressed that Albion were not celebrating their status as a Championship club. The Baggies have and will continue to target promotion to the Premier League from the summer. Morrison added reflection must be taken to right the wrongs of a dreadful campaign.
"I think we'll all reflect at the end and work hard to put that right really," he said. "I'll keep on the lads until the end of the season."
