James Morrison has delivered a stark assessment of West Bromwich Albion's squad depth, insisting the club must make at least three significant signings in the January transfer window to keep their automatic promotion hopes alive. The former Baggies midfielder, who made over 200 appearances for the club, believes the current squad lacks the necessary quality and numbers to sustain a challenge over the second half of the season.

Speaking exclusively to Birmingham World, Morrison highlighted two key areas requiring immediate attention. "We need a centre-forward who can get us 15 goals between now and May, and we need another creative midfielder to take pressure off the wide players," he said. "Defensively, if we lose one or two, we're exposed. So at minimum, three bodies in." The club currently sits third in the Championship, just two points off the automatic places, but injuries to key players have exposed a thin roster.
