West Bromwich Albion midfielder Isaac Price has opened up about the unique situation he faced during the club's relegation fight, ahead of joining up with the Northern Ireland squad for international duty.
A Season of Turmoil
The Baggies endured a difficult campaign, narrowly avoiding relegation from the Championship. Price, who joined the club in the summer, found himself in an unusual position as the season reached its climax.
"It was a weird situation," Price admitted. "We were fighting for our lives, but at the same time, there was a strange calmness around the place. Everyone was focused, but it was unlike anything I've experienced before."
International Break Provides Respite
With the international break now upon us, Price has turned his attention to representing Northern Ireland. He believes the change of scenery will benefit both him and his club.
"Going away with the national team gives you a different perspective," he said. "It's a chance to reset and come back refreshed for the final push."
Price's versatility has been a key asset for West Brom, and he is expected to play a significant role for his country during the upcoming fixtures.
Looking Ahead
As West Brom aim to build on their survival and push for a playoff spot next season, Price's experiences during this relegation battle could prove invaluable. He is determined to learn from the challenges and help the club progress.
"We've been through a lot this season, but it's made us stronger," he added. "I'm excited for what the future holds."
