Aston Villa chief slams Premier League over Emery Manager of Season snub
Villa chief blasts Premier League over Emery snub

Aston Villa's director of football operations, Damian Vidagany, has launched a scathing attack on the Premier League after Unai Emery was left off the Manager of the Season shortlist. The outburst came just hours after Emery guided Villa into the Champions League for the second time in three seasons with a 4-2 victory over Liverpool.

Emery could further cement his legacy on Wednesday night by winning the Europa League final against SC Freiburg in Istanbul, which would be Villa's first trophy in 30 years. Despite these achievements, the Premier League nominated Keith Andrews, Mikel Arteta, Michael Carrick, Pep Guardiola, Andoni Iraola, and Regis Le Bris instead.

Vidagany took to social media to express his frustration, detailing Emery's accomplishments: 'Injuries, no a f...penalty for us in one year, biggest investment in the history for the bigger budget clubs, playing Thursday / Sunday 2 pm... well CHAMPIONS LEAGUE!!! No excuses culture a great group of committed players and the best manager (yes EPL the best manager) shame on Your list) UTV. Next stop Istanbul!!!! See you there lads!!!! One more push, more desire and ambition than ever!!!'

If Villa triumph in the Europa League final, it will be Emery's fifth time lifting the trophy, following three wins with Sevilla and one with Villarreal. The club is preparing for the final with exclusive merchandise available at the Aston Villa Store.
