Another game ended in defeat for Wolves, with four matches left to play, as they suffered their third straight loss at home to Tottenham in the week their Premier League relegation was confirmed.
Having put in woeful displays after the break that ended in heavy defeats against West Ham and Leeds, Wolves welcomed struggling Spurs. Although they had periods in the game, it was a scrappy second-half goal from the visitors that won the match.
Fans' Frustration Boils Over
Wolves fans stayed with the side throughout, but in the final moments there were loud chants against the club's owners, Fosun. The supporters have long been against the ownership after a slow demise towards the drop, which has seen Wolves sell their best players for a number of seasons.
However, it has been a while since the fans were vocal in the ground, with some praising the ownership after a 25 per cent reduction in season tickets was announced this week. But in the final moments of the game, there were loud chants of 'sold the team, now sell the club', followed by chants of 'we want Fosun out'.
Anti-Fosun Banner and Boos for Edwards
At full time, an anti-Fosun banner was unveiled in the South Bank, but it wasn't just the owners who came in for it. Rob Edwards went on his usual lap of appreciation but was met with boos from the fans, as were the players.
